From the age of 10 sewing my clothes became part of everyday life, for fun and frugality. My studies in Fine Art- (Visual Arts) lead to multi media and textile montage expressions well into University, which I paid for by creating Batik silk scarves, my first entrepreneurial experiment called Lovely Silks by Laila. Later my series of sold out Solo Painting shows spawned another venture of reproductions called Deluscious Wearables.

Detouring into studying the healing modalities of Usui Reiki, Expressive Art therapy and Gestalt therapy, I began my full time entrepreneurial life facilitating International personal growth programs and retreats.

Leading up to the Laila Goddess creative leap, I was a therapist experiencing a changing midlife body. I experimented with hot flash friendly fashion design and developed a look that transformed my ill-fitting self-image into fabulous style. Although I was told emphatically that I was on to something and should start a fashion label, I resisted. My attachment to identification as 'therapist' was strong and I needed meaningful work. After realizing I could help other women shift out of their own frumpy midlife blues, I decided to explore the idea. Without a clue about the challenges that lay ahead I morphed my career into the biggest surprise of my life: Laila Goddess was quietly born in 2014.

The collections of original hand-printed fabrics are my own limited-edition designs. Multiple motifs talk to each other for a cohesive mix and match versatility that expands from one collection to the next as you confidently build your wardrobe.

This labour of love is a fresh expression of my vocational commitment to inspire and evolve self-esteem.  When you like your reflection you mute your inner critic. The once dreaded mirror becomes a portal through which to experience the deep freedom found in self-acceptance.

I believe our greatest achievement is recognizing and honouring the Divine within. When a woman dares to consider the mantra- I am the love of my life- a revolution begins. This intention, and the powerful energy that follows, is infused into each garment. Women tell me they can FEEL it.

My reward is beholding your transformation as you try on each ensemble and witness your unexpected pleasure as you gaze in the mirror. This thrill just never gets old. Laila Goddess is cheaper than therapy.
